Fiber Composites

Carbon fiber composites perform significantly better than unreinforced materials in many technically demanding applications.  Carbon fiber reinforced carbon (CFRC or CFRC), for example, is a high-strength composite material consisting of a carbon or graphite matrix and carbon reinforcing fibers. We also offer solutions made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic) and glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic) based on resin matrix systems.

Knowledge & Competence

What makes our carbon fiber composites stand out?

Fiber-reinforced materials score points due to the combination of a high-strength fiber, which gives the material its high strength, and the shaping matrix, which holds the fibers in position, as well as the overall lower density compared to metallic materials.  Thanks to our requirement-specific manufacturing and molding processes, we are able to offer our customers a particularly wide range of exceptional solutions. This is where you also benefit from our comprehensive application engineering advice. This means that we can produce any quantity required, from single piece to mass production. From small and precise to very large is no problem for us - for example, we can offer you particularly large dimensions with our CFRC plates (up to 3 x 2 m) and wound components (D 2 m). Our CFRP sleeves, on the other hand, impress with their high geometric precision and selected fiber matrix systems that can withstand high thermal loads for tribological applications.

Where are our carbon fiber composites used?

Sleeves for pumps (CFRP for Holweck stage), CFRP reinforcement for extremely high-speed drives (permanent magnet rotors), CFRC fixtures for heat treatment in non-oxidative atmospheres, and CFRC sweep-out pads in glass production - carbon fiber composites perform best wherever low weight, high strength, and no distortion are required.

Advantages

Special properties of our carbon fiber composites:

  • Low density, therefore ideal for lightweight solutions.
  • High strength/stiffness
  • Particularly warp-free
  • High geometric precision
  • No loss of strength because of temperature
  • Mostly elastic material behavior
  • Structural components
  • Large dimensions
