Our wide range of CFC edge protection profiles and flexible CFC foils help you protect your furnace insulation. Benefit from the unmatched properties of carbon fiber-reinforced carbon (CFC) and our application-specific design know-how. Whether with or without embedded graphite foil, our CFC profiles provide effective protection against gas erosion and mechanical damage. They prevent thermal bridges, improve temperature uniformity, extend insulation life, reduce scrap, and minimize downtime due to maintenance or repairs. We offer a wide variety of standard profiles, including patented double-L profiles that deliver even greater protection and solve special design challenges. Most standard profiles are available from stock for quick delivery.

High-performance insulation materials and fastening solutions

Our components made of CFC set new standards in insulation and fastening. For example, rigid felt insulation can be coated with graphite to protect against gas erosion – and the coating can even be prepared and applied on-site to cut edges. Fastening reliability also plays a key role in cost-effectiveness. In many high-temperature furnaces, molybdenum bolts are standard – but molybdenum becomes brittle after the first heating cycle. The result: fasteners break, the insulation becomes unstable, and entire batches can be damaged. Replacing broken molybdenum fasteners is labor-intensive and leads to unnecessary downtime. Our CFC fastening systems solve this issue. CFC maintains its mechanical properties throughout the entire service life. During maintenance, the hot zone doesn’t have to be removed – repairs can be made from inside the chamber, significantly reducing time and effort.
